All four tools do the same core job: render a countdown as an image that email clients can display, updated at open time. The real differences are in per-recipient personalization, design control, expired-state behavior, and how pricing scales. Everything below comes from each tool's own pricing and help pages as of July 2026 — where a vendor doesn't publish something, we say so rather than guess.
| Tool | Free tier | Cheapest paid | Higher volume |
|---|---|---|---|
| UrgencyKit | 5,000 loads/mo, 3 campaigns, full designer, small watermark | $9/mo — 100K loads, no watermark, API | $29/mo — 1M loads |
| Sendtric | 10,000 views/mo, deadlines max 30 days out; watermark only past the limit | $8.25/mo* — 150K views | $35/mo* — 1M · $62.50/mo* — 5M |
| NiftyImages | Free tier for testing (limits not published) | $20/mo* — 600K opens/yr | $80/mo* — 3M opens/yr |
| MotionMail | 20,000 views/mo with MotionMail branding; stops rendering past the limit | $10/mo — 100K views | $60/mo — 700K · $200/mo — 2.8M |
* Sendtric and NiftyImages display billed-annually rates; MotionMail and UrgencyKit prices shown are monthly billing (UrgencyKit yearly billing gives two months free).

Two design decisions set UrgencyKit apart, and both are about what happens after you hit
send. First, the deadline is a plain, editable ?end= value in the embed URL on every
plan — personalization is not an enterprise upsell, and any platform's merge tag can drive it.
Second, failure modes are honest: past your deadline the timer switches to the
expired state you designed, and past your plan limit it
turns transparent — your subscribers never see a wrong time or a broken image. Our
GIF encoder was also built specifically to avoid the
black-box artifacts that transparency-optimized GIFs produce in Outlook's rendering engine.
And where the others win: Sendtric's free tier is bigger than ours, NiftyImages goes far deeper on data-driven imagery at scale, and MotionMail is hard to beat on simplicity. If those match your needs, use them — this page stays useful either way.
It depends: per-recipient deadlines on a small budget → UrgencyKit; deepest personalization platform → NiftyImages; biggest free tier for a short broadcast → Sendtric; cheapest simple presets → MotionMail.
UrgencyKit (all plans, via ?end=), NiftyImages (merge tags), MotionMail (API, higher
plans). Sendtric anchors timers to opens or sends instead.
All four have free tiers — Sendtric 10K views/month, MotionMail 20K with branding, UrgencyKit 5K with a small watermark and the full designer, NiftyImages unpublished limits.
Sendtric watermarks, MotionMail stops rendering, UrgencyKit serves a transparent image. Worth checking before a big send.
